So, on a whim the other day I bought a couple Sandisk Sansa e250′s from Woot. They were only $30, and Rockbox compatible, so I thought they’d be fun to play with. As is usual for me, it wasn’t long before I broke out the screwdrivers and started disassembling one of them. Not only was I impressed that the back cover is some sort of cast metal (doesn’t seem quite to be aluminum…) but it has a user replaceable battery. User. Replaceable. Battery. Good job guys. Four screws and you have access to a cell phone style battery that you can pop in and out. Your hardware is clearly better thought out than Apple’s, if only your firmware were as nice…
